CANNES – Asia had a strong showing in Print & Publishing Lions winners at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2018.
Ogilvy Hong Kong won a Gold Lion for ‘Dragster,’ ‘Heroes,’ and ‘Shuttle,’ a series in a campaign on behalf of KFC Birdland (Hong Kong) Ltd.
Silver Lions were the order of the day for Ogilvy Group Thailand. ‘Polyester,’ ‘Wool,’ and ‘Cashmere’ composed the campaign on behalf of Thermos (Singapore) PTC Ltd. Dentsu Inc. Tokyo also won a Silver Lion in Print & Publishing for ‘Sumo Girls,’ a campaign for Hokkoku Shimbun, Inc.
In the case of Cheil Worldwide Hong Kong, Bronze Lions were handed out for ‘Block out the chaos: World leaders’ and ‘Block out the chaos: Football managers.’ The client was JBL headphones. TBWA\Thailand earned Bronze Lions for ‘The Meeting,’ ‘Rooftop soccer,’ and ‘Designer,’ a campaign for McDonald’s. Another Bronze Lion for Asia went to Japan in the form of ‘Emergency Collectibles’ by Dentsu Inc. Tokyo for Kobe Shimbun. Finally, India earned a Bronze Lion for McCann India’s ‘Five status words’ for Harpic bathroom cleaning liquid.
