CANNES – The Grand Prix for Design Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is given to the ‘Trash Isles’ campaign by AMVBBDO London for Plastic Oceans Foundation/LADBible. The campaign aims to show how much plastic is making its way into the oceans – an area approximately the size of France has formed in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Hawaii. To get world leaders to take notice of this problem, LADBible and Plastic Oceans Foundation intends to make this as the world’s first country made entirely of trash.
A total of seven Gold Lions have been given in Design with two going to Intel Corporation Santa Clara’s Intel Drone Light Show At The Olympics. Twenty-five entries bagged the Silver Lions, including the Philippine’s ‘Dead Whale’, while 37 Bronze Lions were also given.
