MILAN – The Bee has broken new ground. Jollibee Foods Corporation, a fully Filipino-owned quick service restaurant chain, has opened its first branch in Europe. In Milan, Italy, to be exact.

This opening comes on the heels of Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer Francis Flores’ own pronouncement of their expansion over the weekend at Ad Summit Pilipinas 2018. In the Philippines, Jollibee has over a thousand branches (its 1,000th store at Triangle Drive, Bonifacio Global City opened in July last year). It also has a total of 200 stores abroad, including in the US, Vietnam, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Oman.

The year 2018 marks a landmark for JFC as it celebrated its 40th year this past January.

The Piazza Diaz 7 in Milan is the location of this groundbreaking new Jollibee venture and Filipinos made sure to welcome the Bee with open arms as long lines were seen hours before it opened on March 18. The scene was similar to what had previously been observed when Jollibee opened its branches in Queens, New York and Jersey City, New Jersey, two locales with particularly abundant Filipino residents.

Even as Jollibee expands further and continues to figuratively spread its wings to other countries and continents, audiences that have grown to love and appreciate the brand will expect no less than the quality of food and service that has been its trademark for the past four decades.
