MUMBAI – To know which McSpicy burger is king, McDonald’s India, with the help of Leo Burnett India, is staging a ‘Battle of Spicy’–a heated contest between the new Indi McSpicy burgers versus the original McSpicy Burgers.

McSpicy burgers have already won the hearts of McDonald’s patrons with a strong tongue for spicy flavors. But McDonald’s India is challenging these patrons’ loyalty by offering the more adventurous and devilishly spicy Indi McSpicy Paneer and Chicken Burgers with a kick of Indian spices and green chili sauce made from locally sourced produce. The rich paneer and chicken patty are marinated with crunchy lettuce, red jalapenos, chilli, onions and cheese sandwiched between spiced Masala buns topped with black & white sesame seeds.

“We have seen a rising demand from customers for spicy food in various forms, be it on the mains or sides. To make it even spicier for our customers, we have spiced up our desserts as well and will be offering a Chilly Mango Flurry and SoftServe as a Limited Time Offer during this period. This is a first ever on our most popular dessert pick on our menu,” commented Kedar Teny, Director for Marketing and Digital, McDonald’s India.

The winner of the McSpicy crown will be determined by a national voting contest. Any customer who buys an Indi McSpicy meal will be eligible to vote for the hotter burger online and also get a chance to win exciting prizes with the help of Freecharge.

“We used this ladder to create a solid engagement platform for McDonald’s that would have a lasting effect on the minds of consumers. This campaign gives consumers the chance to choose and decide which burger – between McSpicy and Indi McSpicy – shall be on the menu. We took the humour peg and roped in Raghu and Rajiv, India’s most popular twin brothers to deliver the message among McDonald’s lovers across the country,” said RajDeepak Das, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett India.
