SHANGHAI – It’s not exactly the kind of film that you would expect from a financial services company, but Orient Securities, through the help of Liberum13, wanted to do away with the boring and preachy ads that keep on bombarding you on the importance of financial security.
Instead of the usual financial security agents wearing sleek blazers and pencil skirts, and either a family or a young professional in his twenties, Orient Securities featured a traditional Beijing opera actress performing on stage and a contemporary ballet dancer to get this message across: investing successfully is not only a matter of analytics, but a form of art.
It aims to reflect the custom tailored services offered by Orient Securities which are specifically designed to meet the needs of individual investors.
“I wanted to give the overall campaign a cinematic quality. We looked closely at subject matter not commonly associated with financial commercials to help tell our story in a unique way,” shared David Lin, the film’s director.
It’s a fresh way to tackle a serious and technical topic such as financial investments but it might require a follow through that would give the audience detailed directions on how to avail of the company’s services for the campaign to lead to results.
