Cannes Lions 2016: Jung von Matt, PRETTYBIRD, and Vrse.works are Grand Prix winners

CANNES – The Entertainment Lions winners at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity have been announced. The Grand Prix winner is ‘The Displaced’ by Vrse.works in Los Angeles featuring NYT VR, the virtual reality app for The New York Times.

There were two winners of the Grand Prix for Entertainment Lions for Music. The first was ‘Home for Christmas,’ an emotional Christmas-themed track created by Jung von Matt on behalf of German supermarket chain EDEKA.

The other Grand Prix for Entertainment Lions for Music winner was ‘Formation,’ created by PRETTYBIRD in Culver City for pop music queen Beyoncé. The pop diva is shown mostly around the city of New Orleans, Louisiana which was famously devastated by Hurricane Katrina a few years ago.
