CANNES – Count another Grand Prix for Y&R NZ’s ‘McWhopper.’ After winning the Print & Publishing Lions Grand Prix, the agency based in Auckland, New Zealand scooped up a Media Lions Grand Prix on Day Five of the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

‘The Next Rembrandt’ from J. Walter Thompson Amsterdam won two Grand Prix awards on this day. The campaign for ING won a Creative Data Lions Grand Prix, then was one of two Cyber Lions Grand Prix winners.

The other Cyber Lions Grand Prix was awarded to Leo Burnett Madrid’s ‘Justino.’ This campaign for the Loterias y Apuestas del Estado (Spanish Lottery) featured a series of animated shorts that resulted in increased purchase of lottery tickets in Spain.

The Creative Effectiveness Lion Grand Prix went to adam&eve DDB London’s ‘Monty’s Christmas.’ The campaign for department store John Lewis is the latest in a series of ads from the retail chain following a penguin and his owner.

T Brand Studio in New York earned the Mobile Lions Grand Prix for ‘NYT VR.’ The campaign that featured packaging Google Cardboards in the New York Times also involved downloading a New York Times app that allowed users to explore 360 videos for partners The New York Times, Google, GE, and Mini.
