CANNES — DAVID won a Grand Prix for its Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Aviano flaming restaurants print ad series for Burger King at the Print & Publishing Lions.

DAVID brought a twist to Burger King’s ‘Flame Grilled since 1954’ tagline by showing three burning stores in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania, Albany, Oregon, and in the US military base in Aviano, Italy. The photos showed firemen putting out fires in the three stores and were not edited nor Photoshopped. DAVID based the campaign on research saying that more Burger King restaurants were burned down than any other fast-food chain because of flame-grilling.

Fran Luckin, Chief Creative Officer, Grey, South Africa and Print & Publishing Lions judge said DAVID’s Grand Prix-winning campaign was “playful, authentic, and (had) a sense of being a little more edgy. Embrace your imperfection. It was brave and young, created in a social media age.”
