CANNES – The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has awarded the lone Grand Prix for Design Lions to ‘The Unusual Football Field’ by AP Thailand and CJ Worx out of Thailand. AP Thailand Public Company Limited also served as the client for this concept where AP Thailand turned wasted small useless spaces into a series of irregularly-shaped football pitches. This effectively broke some traditional limitations of football but the pitch still remained symmetrical to allow for continuous fair play.
There were a total of 112 total metals handed out in this category. BBH Singapore’s ‘Unlimited Stadium’ for Nike from Singapore won the lone Gold Lion for Asia out of the 21 given out.

Tokyo’s ‘The Study of Human Being’ for the Dentsu Advertising Awards Selection Council from Japan were the Asian winners of Silver Lions for a total of six out of 33 given out.
For Bronze Lions, a total of 56 were awarded, with Hakuhodo Inc. Tokyo’s ‘The Wash Lingerie Poster’ for RC Corp France-Japon from Japan, Dentsu Inc. Tokyo’s ‘The Study of Human Being’ for the Dentsu Advertising Awards Selection Council from Japan, Ogilvy Bangkok’s ‘Build the Future 1’ and ‘Build the Future 2’ for DKSH (Thailand) Ltd. from Thailand, Leo Burnett Mumbai’s ‘Roads that honk’ for HPCL from India, Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong / Brand Union’s ‘The Redactivists’ for Amnesty International Hong Kong from Hong Kong, SapientRazorFish Singapore’s ‘Desperados Art Hack – Painting the Unpaintable City’ for Asia Pacific Brewery from Singapore, Famous Innovations Mumbai’s ‘The proposal box that’ll get you a ‘yes’’ for Caratlane from India, Dentsu Creative X Tokyo/Digital Egg Tokyo/Deltro Tokyo’s ‘Industrial JP’ for Komatsu Industrial Co. Ltd. of Japan, Dentsu TEC Tokyo/Dentsu Live Inc. Tokyo/Invisible Design Lab Fukuoka/Yamamoto Works Saitama’TYO Drive Tokyo’s ‘Motion Sonic Project’ for Sony Corporation from Japan representing Asia. That’s a total of 10 Bronze Lions from Asia.
