CANNES – The shortlists for Direct Lions, Creative Data Lions, and Mobile Lions have been announced for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creaivity 2017.

Out of 214 total entries shortlisted for Direct Lions, BBDO Bangkok’s ‘The Long-Lasting Uniform’ for I.P. Trading from Thailand, Taproot Dentsu Mumbai’s ‘adidas Odds’ for adidas from India, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore’s ‘Pitching French films to Hollywood’ for Alliance Francaise de Singapour from Singapore (twice), Leo Burnett Mumbai’s ‘Roads that honk’ for HPCL from India (thrice), Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai’s ‘Savlon Healthy Hands chalk sticks’ for ITC Savlon from India, McCann Worldgroup Mumbai’s ‘Immunity Charm’ for the Ministry of Public Health and the Islamic State of Afghanistan from India (twice), BBH Singapore’s ‘Unlimited Stadium’ for Nike from Singapore (twice), Leo Burnett Mumbai’s ‘More to give’ for Fortis Healthcare from India, TBWA\Hakuhodo Tokyo’s ‘Green light run’ for adidas from Japan (twice), TBWA\Shanghai’s ‘Penguin frozen storybook’ for Penguin Books from China, and Cheil Worldwide Hong Kong’s ‘Safety Bags’ for Tesco from Hong Kong were shortlisted from Asia.

2017 Direct Lions Shortlist by adobo magazine on Scribd

For the Creative Data Lions, 77 entries were shortlisted. These include BBH Singapore’s ‘Unlimited Stadium’ for Nike from Singapore (four times), TBWA\Hakuhodo Tokyo’s ‘Green light run’ for adidas from Japan (five times), F5 Shanghai’s ‘Know you again’ for Baidu from China (four times), and Zenith Shanghai’s ‘Mycarpulse Super ID – Car wellness gets hyper-personalized with AI and mega-data’ for SAIC General Motors from China. That’s a total of 14 shortlisted from Asia.

Ltd., from Japan (thrice), Tencent Shenzhen’s ‘QQ alert: Hope never dies’ for QQ from China (thrice), Y&R Singapore’s ‘Tinymos – the world’s smartest astrophotography camera’ for Tinymos Private Limited from Singapore, Dentsu TEC Tokyo’s ‘Kibo Science 360 – A Space Experiment with Google’ for Google Japan Inc. from Japan, Dentsu Inc. Tokyo’s ‘Glicode’ for Ezaki Glico Company, Limited from Japan, and PHD Shanghai’s ‘Yasmin’s Sex-Ed Revolution’ for YASMIN from China represent Asia.
