Cannes Lions 2017: Film, Creative Effectiveness, Digital Craft, Radio, and Film Craft Lions shortlisted; McCann Worldgroup PH, Dentsu Jayme Syfu among them

CANNES – A total of 271 total entries were shortlisted for Film Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

From Thailand, Taproot Dentsu Mumbai’s ‘adidas Odds’ and ‘adidas Tale of Two’ for adidas from India, Wieden+Kennedy Delhi’s ‘Da Da Ding’ for Nike Delhi from India, Asatsu-DK Tokyo’s ‘Sticking together, no matter what’ for Tsuruya Co. Ltd. From Japan, TBWA\Hakuhodo Tokyo’s ‘Tackles in the city’ for AIG Japan Holdings from Japan, Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong’s ‘Dick the Dog’ for MTV Staying Alive Foundation from Hong Kong Storyteller Bangkok’s ‘Go So Big’ for Monde Nissin (Thailand) Co. Ltd. from Thailand, BBDO India Gurgaon’s ‘#releasethepressure’ for PepsiCo from India, McCann Worldgroup Thailand’s ‘Capture’ for Verena International Co. Ltd. from Thailand, HS AD Seoul’s ‘Vacuum climbing’ for LG Electronics from South Korea, Hakuhodo Inc. Tokyo’s ‘Gravity cat’ for Sony Interactive Entertainment from Japan, DELTRO Tokyo/Drill Tokyo/MORI Tokyo’s ‘Eight: business cards’ for Sansan Inc. from Japan, Innocean Worldwide Seoul’s ‘Shackleton’s Return’ for Hyundai Motor Company from South Korea, BBDO Bangkok’s ‘Speed blinds you’ for Thai Health Promotion Foundation from Thailand, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore’s ‘Hollywood rejects French films’ and ‘Pitching French films to Hollywood’ for Alliance Francaise du Singapour from Singapore, Hakuhodo Kettle’s ‘Smart stretch 360’ for Yahoo! Japan from Japan were shortlisted from Asia. That’s a total of 17 entries from the region.

These six are Leo Burnett Mumbai’s ‘Bajaj V – The Nation’s Bike’ for Bajaj Auto Ltd. from India (twice), BBDO Mumbai’s ‘Dads #sharetheload’ for P&G India from India, Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai’s ‘Beauty tips by Reshma’ for Make Love Not Scars from India, MullenLowe Singapore’s ‘HelpAChildReach5’ for Unilever from Singapore, and BBDO Mumbai’s ‘Ariel Share the Load: a social movement to remove the cultural stain of gender’ for P&G India from India.

The five Asian entries that were shortlisted are McCann Tokyo’s ‘Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo 2017 Spring/Summer opening act’ for Amazon Japan G.K. from Japan, AKQA Shanghai’s ‘My sole story’ for Nike Greater China from China (twice), and TBWA\Hakuhodo’s ‘Green Light Run’ for adidas from Japan (twice).
