CANNES – The first batch of winners at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity have been announced in Lions Health.
Lions Health: Pharma winners
Only six Gold Lions were handed out, four of which were awarded to India’s McCann Health New Delhi for ‘Immunity Charm’ for the Ministry of Public Health, Islamic State of Afghanistan.
Nine Silver Lions were awarded, again dominated by India in the form of Medulla Communications Mumbai’s ‘Last Laugh’ for the Indian Association of Palliative Care (two Silver Lions) and McCann Health New Delhi’s ‘Immunity Charm’ with four Silver Lions. China’s F5 Shanghai earned a Silver Lion for ‘Know You Again’ for Baidu.
No Asian winners were given any of the ten Bronze Lions.

‘Meet Graham’ by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne for Transport Accident Commission Victoria wins Grand Prix. Mullenlowe Singapore’s ‘Bridezilla’ for Unilever Clear Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is lone Gold Lion winner from Asia out of 14 Gold Lions handed worldwide.
Red Fuse Communications from Hong Kong’s ‘Stop the Pain: Masked Gothic Girls’ for Colgate-Palmolive, and McCann Worldgroup Bangkok from Thailand’s ‘Capture’ for Sure win the two Silver Lions from Asia out of 20 total given.
There were thirty winners of Bronze Lions, with six coming from Asia, namely: Taproot Dentsu Mumbai from India’s ‘adidas Odds’ for adidas, Hakuhodo Inc. Tokyo from Japan’s ‘Misheard Font’ for Panasonic, McCann Health New Delhi from India’s ‘Immunity Charm’ for the Ministry of Public Health and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dentsu Inc. Tokyo from Japan’s ‘Second Life Toys’ for Green Ribbon Project Committee, McCann Tokyo from Japan’s ‘Still Life’ for The End ALS Association, and Ogilvy and Mather Mumbai from India’s ‘Saylon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ for ITC Saylon.

Special awards
The Lions Health Grand Prix for Good, open to Gold Lion winning entries ineligible for a Grand Prix in their section, was also awarded to ‘Immunity Charm’ by McCann Health, New Delhi / McCann Worldgroup India, Mumbai, for Ministry of Public Health, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The award was judged by Caleb Tiller, Executive Director of Communications & Public Affairs, the United Nations Foundation, and members of the Pharma and Health & Wellness Juries: Mike Rodgers, June Laffey, Christine Abbott and R. John Fidelino.
Caleb Tiller, commented “The Lions Health Grand Prix for Good award sits at the cross-section of creativity and social impact. It’s an exciting time for our community, as cross-pollination between sectors is creating new opportunities to engage people in driving social change and improving lives.”
The Healthcare Agency of the Year was awarded to Area 23, New York; second to Medulla Communications, Mumbai; and third to McCann Health, New Delhi.
The Healthcare Network of the Year went to McCann Health; second to FCB Health; and third to The CDM Group.
