CANNES LIONS 2019: Shortlist for Entertainment Track and Craft Track Revealed! 458 Finalists From All Over the World Make the Cut

5 more shortlists have been announced today, June 17 2019, for the prestigious Cannes Lions award. As the first day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity commences, agencies all over the world are also in celebration as they find out which ones made the cut in the Digital Craft Lions, Industry Craft Lions, Entertainment Lions, Entertainment Lions for Music and Entertainment Lions for Sports categories under the Craft and Entertainment tracks.

The Craft: Digital Craft Lions category celebrates excellent user experience designs and technological artistry online. Led by Jury President Rei Inamoto, Founding Partner of IxCo, the jury has selected 78 finalists.

GOODBY SILVERSTEIN & PARTNERS, San Francisco earns 5 spots in the Craft: Digital Craft Lions category, 3 for its “Dali Lives” campaign for The Dali Museum.

 

Also under the Craft Track, the Industry Craft Lions is led by Jury President Trevor Robinson OBE, Founder & Executive Director of Quiet Storm. The jury looked at entries that delivered beautifully executed solutions to creative ideas and shortlisted the entries to 181 finalists.

TBWA\ Paris earned itself a total of 29 entries in Craft: Industry Craft Lions, with 21 contributed by its campaigns for McDonald’s France.

 

Entering the Entertainment Track, the Entertainment Lions category aims to honor the best of culture-impacting creative content that captivates the audience in a unique way. 82 entries were shortlisted under the leadership of Jury President Scott Donaton, Global Chief Creative & Content Officer of Digitas.

McCann New York holds 5 spots in the Entertainment: Entertainment Lions category, 3 for its “The Team That Wouldn’t Be Here” campaign for Verizon.

 

The Entertainment: Entertainment Lions for Music category honors musical collaborations and original music that innovatively promotes and communicates the brand message to consumers. Jury President is Paulette Long OBE, Music Consultant/Board Director/Publisher of Paulette Long narrowed down the entries to 44.

Stand-out campaigns that have earned itself spots on the shortlist are “Mistaken Love Song”  by ARTPLAN Brasilia“Expensify This” by JohnXHannes New York and “Giving Songs” by DE LA CRUZ & ASSOCIATES Guaynabo with 3 spots each.

 

Led by Jury President Steve Stoute, Chief Executive Officer of Translation, the Entertainment: Entertainment Lions for Sport category celebrates creativity that taps into fan culture and utilizes the power of sports and esports in establishing connections between brands and consumers – shortlisted entries were down to 73.
