Better known as CK Tan, he left his ECD post at Ogilvy in April 2013 to join BBDO taking on the same role. ā€œIā€™m happy to be back,ā€ Tan said, sharing that this marks as his third stint with Ogilvy. ā€œBut I am just as excited as the first time I joined the company.ā€

His first joined Ogilvy back in 2000 as an art director, moving on to work with Leo Burnett Malaysia before returning to Ogilvy Hong Kong. Among the brands he worked on Malaysia Airlines (Worldwide), Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts (Worldwide), Unilever, Maxis, Umobile, KFC, Pizza Hut, GSK, Nestle, BMW, Bernas, Motorola, Guinness and Nike.

The news came just weeks after VJ Anand, group executive creative director at TBWA Kuala Lumpur, was appointed to replace Tan who reportedly resigned from his post. Tan will be reporting to Gavin Simpson, Ogilvy Malaysiaā€™s chief creative officer.

ā€œOur goal is to have the best creative talent under one roof and build Ogilvy as a creative force. That said, it is great and exciting to welcome CK back to the family. Great ideas are no coincidence; they are the results of working with great talents and clients. We believe we have that in Ogilvy,ā€ said Simpson commented.
