Once again, Philippine agencies showed mastery in audio-based ads. Four campaigns were shortlisted under Audio, while another four entries were included in the Audio Technique shortlist. Meanwhile, two non-audio campaigns also made it to the shortlists – one under PR and the other under Product Design.
Dentsu Jayme Syfu gained an Audio shortlist nod for its ‘Breathe’ audio spot for Belo Men Deo. The campaign was also a shortlisted entry during this year’s Cannes Lions for Radio. Listen to the ad here.
TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno is looking to win further accolade for its ‘Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (CARMMA)’ campaign with a shortlist mention each for Audio (campaign here) and PR (campaign here).
Meanwhile, McCann Worldgroup Philippines’ Cannes Gold and Silver Lion-winning campaigns, ‘Lives’ for Fully Booked and ‘Dim Dads’ for Maggi Magic Sarap are once again in the running for metals — this time at the Clio Awards under the Audio category. ‘Lives 1 of 4 – Frank’ and ‘Lives 3 of 4 – Nicky’ spots for Fully Booked and ‘Dim Dads – Rufus’ and ‘Dim Dads – Pedro’ ads for Maggi Magic Sarap were also shortlisted under Audio Technique. In total, the agency garnered six shortlist nods for this wave.
DDB Tribal Worldwide Philippines also came in as a shortlister under the Product Design category with their Taguig NICO Project for Taguig City. NICO is an ashtray designed by the agency to turn nicotine from cigarette residue into an organic mosquito repellant.
