Two agencies from the Philippines have made it to the first wave of Clio Awards shortlists, gaining four nods in total.
TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno gained three shortlisted entries — two under Direct (Social Media, Film), and one under Social Media — all for its ‘Correcting History’ campaign for Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (CARMMA). The agency has already won a Grande Lotus Roots award at ADFEST 2017, a Grand Kidlat at the Creative Guild of the Philippines’ Kidlat Awards, a Wood Pencil at the D&AD Awards, second and third prize awards at the New York Festivals International Advertising Awards, and a Grand Prix at the Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards 2017, among other accolades.
Meanwhile, Publicis JimenezBasic snagged a shortlist spot under the Brand Partnerships & Collaborations category withs its Star Wars: Rogue One-themed ’Mask’ campaign for Globe Telecom. The campaign has been recently awarded a Grand Prix at the Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards 2017, and a Silver Lotus at ADFEST among others.
Both agencies were highly recognised at the recent 4As Agency of the Year Awards with TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno winning Activation Excellence Awards for Creativity and Effectiveness and Execution Excellence, Digital Excellence Award for Creativity and Effectiveness, and Best in Creative. Meanwhile, Publicis JimenezBasic won its first Agency of the Year Award in 10 years while also winning the Best in Market Performance award.
