Columnist appointed to head Planning at JWT Malaysia

ASIA-PACIFIC – KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 5, 2011— Param Saikia, CEO of JWT Malaysia today announced the appointment of Kapil Sethi to the role of Director, Strategic Planning, effective immediately.
 
Sethi’s appointment rounds out the JWT Malaysia leadership team and will see him partnering with Saikia and Edwin Leong, ECD/ Deputy Chairman, JWT Malaysia. As Director for Strategic Planning, Kapil will run the KL planning department and oversee the brand planning for the office’s strong client roster.
 
Sethi has an MBA from India’s top business school with over 17 years of diversified, cross-cultural strategic planning and management experience. He first came to Malaysia in early 2000 and has since been responsible for setting up and heading the strategic planning functions in McCann Erickson, Bates and Grey Malaysia. His professional work on a diverse range of brands and categories is underpinned by his strong consumer insight credentials, honed over a decade with the Malaysian consumer.
 
Sethi is also a socio-political commentator with The Malaysian Insider with his own regular column.
 
On his joining, Sethi said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with two consummate advertising professionals, Param and Edwin to achieve thought leadership in consumer understanding and brand development in Malaysia.”
