This year, the 9th edition was set to be a precedent for a more rigorous and demanding form of Commward. For initiating a creative momentum across the nation, the 9th Commward, along with introducing newer and more challenging categories, has also introduced a more rigorous jury system and selection process. Commward this year had Tay Guan Hin, Founder/Chief Creative Officer, TGH Collective and Creative Change Catalyst, APAC Global Advisory, as the first-ever Jury President. This ensured that Commward entries were evaluated to the most meticulous global standards possible.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Tay Guan Hin said “ The Grand Prix and gold winners that won in tonight Commward 2019 are world-class. Compared to previous years, you’ll notice a drop in the number of awards given. This is a significant signal to the industry to raise their game. Every judge was fair and deliberate in their decisions to lift the overall creative standard and it shows. The quality of this show depends on the quality of creative thinking. I am proud that Banglesdesh recognizes the need to step up and play in the global arena. It’s just the beginning and I hope in time, everyone in your industry will continue to push each other to get even better.”
A daylong communication summit also took place on the occasion. With the theme ‘Creative Leap in the Age of Disruption’, the summit brought together renowned global and local experts including creative professionals from diverse sectors to share knowledge. This year, the summit comprised of three keynote sessions, three panel discussions, one interaction/intervention, three local insights, and three global insights.
