HONG KONG – Award-winning creative advertising agency DDB Group Hong Kong has bolstered its international business team to offer global brands a full suite of digital, mobile and integrated marketing services as a launch pad into the Asia Pacific region, out of Hong Kong.

The advertising agency has appointed integrated creative specialist Jamal Hamidi as Executive Creative Director for Global Business, and international brand expert Justin Bonnett in a dual role as Head of DDB Live, the agency’s brand activation and experiential marketing arm, and Business Director for International Business.

“Having both worked and lived in a number of different countries across the world, Jamal and Justin bring a large global footprint and many years’ experience to the agency,” said Peter Rodenbeck, Regional VP at DDB Group Hong Kong. “We are very excited to bring our stronger global business unit to market, and offer international clients all the benefits of a well-rounded perspective from within the heart of the Asia Pacific region.“

Cannes award-winning Hamidi returns to DDB Group Hong Kong following an earlier stint with digital specialist arm Tribal Worldwide Hong Kong. He comes onboard from an ECD post at Edelman Australia where he spent the past almost four years spearheading the group’s creative offering across a wide range of industries, for clients such as Samsung, Paypal, KFC, Telstra, Nivea and Kimberly Clark.

Bonnett joins from his role as VP Business Director at Jack Morton Worldwide in Hong Kong, where he worked on revered brands like Audi, Marriott Hotels, Sands China and Tesla. Prior to Jack Morton, Bonnett spent time as Director at Uniplan in Hong Kong, and Commercial Director at Connexion over four years in Brussels, managing international sponsorship campaigns for brands like Porsche, Rolex, Electrolux, UBS and the London 2012 Olympics.

“I’m so excited to return to DDB and rejoin the fantastic team in Hong Kong,” said Hamidi. “DDB’s integrated marketing solutions and technology expertise are second-to-none, and I’m really looking forward to further growing the offering for global clients looking for a home in Asia.”

The appointments follow the addition of technical expert Bocys Lam to the Tribal Worldwide Hong Kong team in January this year.
