Dentsu Jayme Syfu went two-for-two at this year’s D&AD Impact Awards, winning a Wood Pencil for “Dead Whale” under the Environmental Sustainability category and a Graphite Pencil under the Health & Wildlife category.

The much-coveted Pencils further add to the campaign’s trophy shelf which already contains a Gold Lion, three Gold Clios, a Grand Prix from AD STARS, and many more.

“Dead Whale” was conceptualized and executed by the agency for Greenpeace Philippines to raise awareness on the fight against plastic wastes in the oceans. The “dead whale” made entirely from plastic garbage was found on a beach in Naic, Cavite during the ASEAN Summit held in the Philippines last May 2017. The campaign gained social and media buzz which prompted ASEAN leaders to discuss the issue.
