SINGAPORE – Fans of Cartoon Network in Asia will be able to see their favourite shows in innovative new ways and on new platforms. The launch of “Pop & Watch” is a first-of-a-kind concept offering a pop-up experience for viewers beyond the dedicated pay-TV Cartoon Network channel.
In Singapore, from June 12 to 21, a “Pop & Watch” channel will be available for free on Singtel TV (Channel 227, as well as the Singtel TV GO and Singtel CAST mobile apps).
In Malaysia, on Astro Ria HD (Channel 123) and Hello (Channel 110) via Cartoon Network Pop & Watch, a programming block featuring The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears, will air from June 5 to 30.
In the Philippines, Cartoon Network Classics, a pay-per-view channel on Cignal TV. Viewers there can get their fix of nostalgia with a selection of 90s cartoon re-runs from May 3 to June 2 for just P50 (US$1).
The “Pop & Watch” concept can also be supplemented by a “Pop & Play” campaign which adds a gift redemption component for subscribers. For example, Singtel TV Family Pack customers will be able claim one of 300 limited-edition goodie boxes filled with Cartoon Network merchandise.
