SINGAPORE – Nickelodeon Asia has inked a deal with China’s Zhejiang Radio & TV Group to air a 3D animated series on its Southeast Asia channels across the region. DAYU, premiering as four one-hour installments on Nickelodeon from June 25-28 will air at 9:00 PM (MY,PH, HK, TWN)/8pm (INDO) and will reach 6.4 million households. This deal marks the first partnership between the two parties.
DAYU is a story about dreams, love, and heroism, reflecting the harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature. The series will bring to life the Chinese legend of Dayu, a mythical hero who faces many challenges and obstacles set before him, battling for thirteen long years and leading the people to eventually defeat Gong Gong, who is likened to the Greek Poseidon.

Building on the experience of creating DAYU, Zhejiang Radio & TV Group aims to innovate and produce more of such content, which helps showcase Chinese stories and culture to a global audience. In doing so, it hopes to provide viewers all over the world with a better understanding of and appreciation for the beauty of Chinese culture, and be inspired by stories such as DAYU.
