SINGAPORE – Days leading up to the National Day, Singapore celebrates its food heritage through a food festival aptly called “A Wok Down Memory Lane at Ellenborough Market” along Clarke Quay.
The festival aims to re-create the historic market that enjoyed its heyday in the 1800s up to the 1960s. With 30 hawker stall-like food carts, visitors can indulge in both nostalgia and authentic food such as Teochew meatballs, prawn rolls and chive dumplings.
Esso LPG, the lead sponsor of the event, and a staple in every Singaporean household, is proud to have been part of Singaporean’s heritage of food and collective memories by providing fuel that brought food to families’ dinner tables.
To commemorate the role that Esso LPG plays in the lives of Singapore Families dating back to earlier years, BBDO Singapore created a short film entitled “The Connection”. The film features an Esso delivery man who forms a bond with a resilient grandmother who raised her two grandchildren on her own. The characters in the film are the embodiment of Esso LPG’s promise to bring people together, one meal at a time, forming lifetime connections.
