Finnair has appointed Mango PR to handle its public relations and communications in Singapore effective immediately. The new appointment was made after a competitive pitch. Mango PR also previously led the successful launch of the Finnair A350 XWB aircraft on its Singapore-Helsinki route in 2016.

Finnish flag carrier Finnair is one of the world’s longest-standing and most respected airlines. Today, Finnair connects 19 cities in Asia with over 100 destinations in Europe, and continues to invest heavily in growing its Asian traffic. As a challenger carrier in Singapore, Finnair’s competitive advantage includes flying the fast Northern route, which is the shortest way between Europe and Asia. The award-winning airline focuses on efficiency and sustainability, fast connections in Helsinki airport, and offering a unique Nordic experience. Nordic hospitality, innovation and design are featured throughout the in-flight experience, corporate culture and overall brand proposition.

Sebastian Grossmann, Regional Manager for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia at Finnair, says, “Singapore is an important hub for Finnair in Asia. We currently operate daily flights between Singapore and Helsinki, which also connect several Asia Pacific cities to Europe. As we continue to grow our Asian traffic by strengthening our offerings in the region, we look forward to even more Singapore and regional travellers flying our modern fleet to Helsinki and beyond, where they can discover the best the Nordics have to offer and the efficient connectivity of our global network.”

The campaign will build awareness and affinity for the Finnair brand with the Singapore audience by highlighting the airline’s core messaging and unique positioning, while championing its position as a significant European player in Asia. Media relations, influencer engagement and event activations will focus on enacting Finnair’s commitments to efficiency, sustainability, design, and doing things the Nordic way – setting it apart from the competition.

On the appointment, Sarah Curra, Chief Executive Officer at Mango PR, says, “We are delighted to work alongside the Finnair team again, this time fully focused on realising the brand’s growth aspirations in Singapore and as a contender in the Asia-Europe traffic. Having a reputable airline such as Finnair choose to work with Mango PR once again, and on a larger scale, is testament to the exceptional track record of our Singapore team.”

Mari Rouvi, Communications Manager at Finnair, says, “After reviewing proposals by several top PR agencies in Singapore, we found the approach proposed by Mango PR particularly on point, and astutely aligned with our plans for 2019. Mango PR proved a thorough understanding of our brand, and their expertise and credentials in the travel and tourism sector make them a partner of choice as we accelerate our growth in this part of Asia.”
