SHANGHAI – Geometry Global Hong Kong has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Anne Vanlaeys as its Managing Director, followed by the promotion of ChowPo Kong to Client Services Director.

Anne Vanlaeys began her career on the client side in marketing and trade, before moving to the agency side in 1999. After a short stint at McCann Momentum, she joined Ogilvy Paris in 2002 where she held various regional and global account lead roles. Vanlaeys joined Geometry Global when it launched in 2013, as MD of the French office. She moved to Hong Kong in September 2016 as a Global Brand Director, before her appointment as Managing Director.  She has worked with major brands, including Piaget, Bacardi, Barclays, Europcar and Danone, to name but a few.

Vanlaeys said, “Geometry Global is truly a global network and Hong Kong obviously plays a critical role in it. I am thrilled to be part of such a creative and dynamic team. I am also very pleased to announce the promotion of ChowPo Kong, who has a unique ability to make the client’s challenges her own, while driving complex integrated campaigns to successful conclusion. Furthermore, ChowPo is one of the most passionate and committed communications experts in Hong Kong. In her new role, she will be instrumental in delivering the vision of the leadership team.”

Kong is an industry veteran with 15 years experience specialized in ATL, activation and retail. She joined Ogilvy in 2008 as a business director. Her previous career includes DDB Hong Kong and Dentsu Hong Kong. Her client portfolio spans from consumer goods (Unilever, Nestle), finance (DBS, Prudential) and transportation (MTR) to retail (A.S. Watson, Sky Connection) and Global Travel Retail on liquors and cosmetics.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to take Geometry Global Hong Kong to the next level with our management team,” Kong commented. “But promotion doesn’t guarantee success – pioneer-ship, mentorship and leadership do. In our industry, we sell creativity and ideas every day, but these are not as important as our people. Hence, I will continue to devote my time to growing young talent.”

Diana Cawley, CEO of Geometry Global Asia Pacific, added, “For both, the new structure is a well-deserved recognition. Hong Kong is an important organization to us, with its diverse client portfolio and robust growth. Anne has worked both on the agency and client side, therefore is well equipped to serve our clients’ needs to change consumer behavior. Under her leadership, teams from all disciplines will seamlessly work together to deliver the best creative and strategically acute work for our clients. ChowPo’s promotion is recognition of her solid client relationship and analytical skills, which have made her a great asset to the Hong Kong team and to the region. I believe the new management will bring our Hong Kong team together to deliver our client’s ambitions in the face of rapidly changing consumer needs and habits.”

Launched by WPP in 2013, Geometry Global Hong Kong has delivered a number of award-winning campaigns, including work for Lego andWWF. One of its latest campaigns is a collaboration with its Colombian office for the Colombian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, aimed at curbing demand for endangered animals (read more).
