Germany, US dominate LIA non-traditional shortlist

LAS VEGAS – The London International Awards has revealed the shortlist for the non-traditional category, with Germany and the United States having the most number of shortlisted entries, with 10 each out of a total of 79.

Germany’s finalists include campaigns such as Samsung’s ‘Stare down Contest’ by Heimat Berlin and ‘The IKEA RGB Billboard’ by thjnk, along with entries from BBDO Germany, Jung von Matt, and Kolle Rebbe.

At the same time, the United States had campaigns such as McDonald’s ‘Literacy Store’ by Leo Burnett Chicago, and Tourism Victoria’s ‘The Melbourne Remote Control Tourist’ by Tool, along with campaigns from BBDO New York, Leo Burnett New York, Venables Bell & Partners and Creative Artists Agency, whose ‘The Scarecrow’ campaign for Chipotle was also shortlisted in film.

Brazil emerged with nine shortlisted entries, including campaigns from AlmapBBDO, FCB Brasil, Leo Burnett Tailor Made, and Ogilvy Brasil.

Australia’s seven finalists comprise campaigns from Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, as well as Cannes Grand Prix winner ‘GAYTMs’ for ANZ by Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne.

France has five shortlisted entries from agencies Leo Burnett France, Les Gaulois, Marcel, and Publicis Conseil.

Sweden and the United Kingdom have four entries each, with campaigns from Akestam Holst, INGO Stockholm, McCann London, OgilvyOne, and adamandeveDDB, whose ‘Sorry I Spent it on Myself’ campaign for Harvey Nichols also made it to the film shortlist.

Italy and Spain have three entries each, with campaigns from Leo Burnett Milan, Publicis Italy, Saatchi & Saatchi Italy, DDB Spain, and The Cyranos McCann.

With two entries each are Argentina, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, China, Austria, Sri Lanka, and Colombia. Shortlisted agencies include Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi, Dentsu Inc., Hakuhodo Inc., Ogilvy & Mather Mexico, Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand and ApolloNation, Leo Burnett Toronto, Lowe China, Ogilvy Beijing, Cheil Austria, Leo Burnett Solutions, Geometry Global, Ogilvy & Mather Bogota, Lowe Bogota, and SSP3.

Belgium, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, and Peru each had one finalist entry from the following agencies: mortierbrigade, Leo Burnett Costa Rica, Red Fuse Communications (Y&R), Ogilvy & Mather India, BBDO Pakistan, and McCann Lima.
