What started out as Google’s April Fools’ joke turned out not to be such a joke after all.

Google has sent out 10 Google business cards with the title Pokémon Master to those who have caught all 151 Pokémon hidden in the tall grasses of Google Maps. Accompanied with the cards is a letter from the Google Maps team congratulating the newly deemed Pokémon Masters.
Reddit user tinygrump posted a photo of what the great explorers who caught all the hidden Pokémon got.
Google has been active in creating gags during April Fool’s day since 2000. Given the success of this campaign, Google will have to raise the bar for next year.
This campaign was super effective.
