BANGKOK – Havas Worldwide recruited Lowe Worldwide ECD Ricardo Turcios for its expanding Thai operation, which has become the regional hub for the Reckitt Benckiser business.

With global experience spanning New York, Paris and Bangkok, the multi-awarded creative’s past experience in a regional and global capacity working on Unilever brands will come in handy.

Turcios joined Lowe & Partners Bangkok as regional creative director for Unilever Southeast’s Closeup, Pepsodent, Rexona, Citra and OMO business in 2011 and was promoted about a year ago to handle the consumer goods giant’s Southeast Asia and global accounts. In that role, he led creative for Pepsodent, Rexona, Walls, Sunlight, OMO and TresEMME.

“…the fact that Bangkok is now the hub for Reckitt Benckiser, it’s a good thing and it’s also a great opportunity to build a strong office, not just for Reckitt Benckiser. It’s also for the network,” said Sunny Hermano, the network’s business development and integration director, Southeast Asia.

Along with Turcio, the office has also recruited Andrew Griffin, who has 15 years’ digital experience, as digital creative director to work on all brands handled by the office and offer digital support for Southeast Asia.

Patrick Balo has been appointed for all brands with a healthcare skew such as Reckitt Benckiser’s Dettol and Clearasil accounts well as the network’s expanding healthcare portfolio.

In addition to Reckitt Benckiser, the office also has the Air France, Hershey’s and UIP accounts.

New hires have lifted the office’s headcount from 18 last year to 40 this year, prompting the move this month to a Havas Village, an innovation of the network to house its various agencies in one location to foster greater collaboration.
