SINGAPORE – In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Jetstar teamed up with Tech in Asia to create the High Altitude Conference – Asia’s first inflight conference.

The conference brought startups and investors together at 36,000 feet on Jetstar flight 3K204 from Jakarta to Singapore on Monday 14 May.

While in the air, Tech in Asia attendees had a fruitful journey learning from industry experts, while startups also got to pitch their ideas to investors strategically seated next to them – speed dating style.

The 60-minute inflight programme saw quickfire speeches by Aldi Adrian Hartanto, Head of Investments at Mandiri Capital and Jamie Lin, Founding Partner of AppWorks – Asia’s Leading Startup Accelerator.

Aldi shared insights on how regional startups can collaborate with Indonesia’s largest financial service group to scale their businesses, while Jamie shared the three most important traits of successful startup founders. In his capacity as Founding Partner of Appworks, Jamie has worked with 323 active startups and 780 founders in its alumni network.

“With thousands of attendees flying into Singapore from all around Asia for the conference, we saw a unique opportunity to create something innovative and exciting for attendees and investors. We hope that this has inspired people to think creatively, cementing our belief that ideas can be born anywhere,” said Jan-Paul Jeffrey, Jetstar Regional Marketing Manager, Southeast Asia.

“This year, we’re excited to take our conference literally to greater heights with Jetstar. We’re always looking to collaborate with our partners to provide interesting ways for the tech community to grow and look forward to more of these projects in the future,” said Jacob Chee, Tech in Asia VP of Sales.
