Intelligence: R3’s April 2020 New Business Report reveals top 10 creative and media agencies in APAC

ASIA PACIFIC – R3 Worldwide has released its April 2020 New Business report for APAC, ranking the top 10 creative and media wins across the region, and providing a broader look into the business, in comparison to the local and regional market.

Creative agencies

The top new business wins across the APAC creative industry this April 2020 is dominated by both local and regional clients, with not a global win in sight. Notably, four of the top ten wins are creative mandates from China. VMLY&R won the biggest account with Adidas Digital, Leo Burnett scored Chinese online education startup Zuoyebang, while Isobar won Xiaomi Project and Saatchi & Saatchi won the Penchoin Project.

Sponsor

Leo Burnett was the only creative agency that earned two spots in this month’s report, with its major win in China and the Samsung Project in Korea.

Several Indian accounts were also won this month, with Dentsu for Mobile Premier League’s and DDB for the Union Bank of India Project.

Other notable wins are The Trade Desk for TikTok in APAC, BBH for Jollibee Food Corporation in Singapore, and M&C Saatchi for XL Home in Indonesia.

Media Agencies

Media mandates won in China also dominated the region this month, with eight out of ten accounts coming out of the country: WPP for Unilever, Publicis Media for McDonald’s Planning duties, Zenith for FCA Jeep, MediaCom for SIE and Nintendo.

With these massive partnerships in China, Mindshare also won three out of the eight accounts: Zhejiang Geely Auto Sales Co., KangShiFu, and Xueersi Education.

It’s also interesting to note that these Chinese accounts amount bigger than April’s regional and global wins, as Initiative was granted media mandate for Pernod Ricard Winemakers in APAC, and MediaCom won the global Duracell account, but both wins are at the bottom of the list.
