Isobar, the global digital marketing agency, has promoted Rohan Lightfoot to Managing Director of Isobar Shanghai, effective immediately. With an on-going ambition to strengthen the China leadership team with pioneering talent, this is Isobar’s latest move in a series of senior level appointments, that saw Tim Doherty named as Chief Creative Officer last week, and two veteran digital General Managers, Laura Wu and Sonia Feng, added to the agency’s Shanghai senior management team recently.

With 20 years of industry experience, including seven years in China, Lightfoot has extensive marketing experience for some of the world’s most famous brands such as adidas and Coca-Cola. Rohan spent time at Carat China prior to joining Isobar as Asia-Pacific regional business director in 2012.

Prior to joining Isobar Shanghai, Laura Wu served at Dentsu Group agency &c., where she led the key client team for Lenovo. Laura has also spent time client side, bringing a wealth of brand strategy and digital experience to the team.

Sonia Feng joins Isobar from the Aegis group agency Vizeum. She has 18 years’ experience in the creative, media and digital industries working with brands such as Mondelez and Nikon.

Jane Lin-Baden, CEO Isobar China group, said: “Isobar is one of the leading full service digital marketing agencies in China. We believe that to continue innovation that builds upon our vision of becoming the next generation of digital agency, it is essential to develop “liquid talent”, leaders who come from and can bring ideas to life across all disciplines. All three candidates have strong, integrated backgrounds covering brand strategy, creative and digital media, along with previous experience at Dentsu and Aegis sister agencies. Our group can offer this unique opportunity to such pioneering talent and to our clients thanks to the diversity of our agencies.”

Commenting on his appointment, Rohan Lightfoot, Managing Director Shanghai, said: “I can’t think of a more exciting role than to lead Isobar in the world’s most dynamic digital environment.  My goal is to build on the fantastic track record of success that is Isobar in Shanghai and help it to become even more successful.  We’re building a team that will equip Isobar to build a global reputation in the coming years.  It’s an incredible privilege to be part of what we’re building here.”

The previous Managing Director of Isobar in Shanghai, Wayne Fan, has taken on a new role as Chief Strategic Integrator of Isobar China. With the growth of Chinese brands looking to expand globally he will focus on developing Isobar’s ‘China out’ strategy. He will also grow strategic product offerings for the China market, “a vital pillar in shaping our strategy to define Chinese digital services,” added Lin-Baden.
