LONDON – Ivan Massow, the man who wants to succeed Boris Johnson as Mayor of London, has officially launched his candidacy campaign with a refreshingly frank video, released today.

The 60-second video shows Ivan as a ‘not politics as normal’ candidate and asks Londoners for their views on what matters to them. It is an honest, ‘warts and all’ look into the Conservative candidate’s background. It acknowledges personal issues from Ivan’s past such as alcoholism and adoption, and also explains some of the reasons he wants to be the city’s Mayor in 2016.

Speaking about the video, Ivan Massow said: “I wanted to be upfront and honest from the get-go, which is why this video is so personal. I’m not your typical politician, I hate red tape, I’ve been a Londoner for 25 years, I take the Tube and I get things done, which is why I think I’d make a positive impact on the city as Mayor. I also know I can’t do it alone, which is why I want to know what issues matter to other people. I will use their views to help me make decisions on what is best for London.”

Michael Moszynski, CEO of LONDON Advertising, the company that created the video, and the commentator who consistently called the result of the General Election as a ‘small Conservative majority’, said: “The General Election has shown London to be Labour’s one redoubt in England and the consensus is that they will defend it to the hilt and win it in next year’s London Mayoral election. The Conservative Party needs a candidate who can reach parts of London that other Tory candidates cannot reach.”

The video campaign launches on Monday 18 May at 7am across the web, on Ivan’s website and You Tube, with significant investment in Facebook and Twitter advertising. The video release marks an exciting development in London politics as the successful entrepreneur and contender for Mayor looks to digital media to get feedback from voters. Those who want to join the conversation online are encouraged to use the hashtag #tellivan. The information gathered will be used to shape Ivan’s proposed policies and possibly the future of the nation’s capital.
