SRI LANKA – Geometry Global Sri Lanka has appointed Sancharitha Jayathilake as its new Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for promoting the concept of precision activation to brands in the local market and maintaining Geometry Global’s position as a leader in this space.

In his previous roles at OgilvyAction in Sri Lanka, Jayathilake oversaw key activation departments and brings a wealth of sales, marketing and brand management experience to his new position. Earlier in his career, he has also been responsible for leading new product research and development, and activation projects across a wide range of industries including retail, finance and telecommunications.

Jayathilake is looking forward to the chance to work with some of the leading brands in Sri Lanka and being at the forefront of creativity and innovation in the sector. Commenting on his new role, he said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work on an array of exciting accounts and support the expansion of our current client base.”

In his view, it is an exciting time to be working in brand activation in South Asia, and Sri Lanka in particular. “Just like in other parts of the region, mass media is becoming more fragmented as digital media increases its presence,” he added.

According to Jayathilake Geometry Global is well placed to enable brands to maximise the benefits of media trends. He said: “So many factors influence the purchase decisions of consumers, as they are always connected.  The key for brands is to understand their target customers’ journey and influence them at the right time, in the right place and with the right message. This is where Geometry’s insights and expertise can make a real difference and deliver real value for clients.”
