BANGKOK — Last October 24, 2018, Leo Burnett Group Thailand was crowned the ‘Advertising Agency of The Year’ and the ‘Digital Agency of Year’ at the Adman Awards & Symposium 2018, Thailand’s most celebrated advertising award festival. Hosted by the Advertising Association of Thailand, the awards recognize outstanding creative and marketing communications and is one of Thailand’s biggest and most competitive industry events.
The Leo Burnett Group Thailand took home a total of 39 awards, with 4 Golds, 12 Silvers and 23 Bronze for 10 of their clients in various industries, after a year of absence from award show participation as directed by the Publicis Groupe Global Leadership Team.
The majority of the awards were in recognition of Uniqlo’s “The Local Ambassador” that alone won 2 Golds, The Thai Health Promotion Foundation “Scoop to Kill and “How are you” receiving a Gold each and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) “Pa-Sa-Thai Machine” that won multiple Silvers.
Mr. Songkran Sethesompobe, Group Chief Executive Officer of Publicis One Thailand, said “Congratulations and I’m proud of all the team members that have helped achieve this result, this is a nice way to make a comeback after a year of absence. I want to also thank our clients for allowing us to extend our creativity beyond advertising. Our approach as a ‘Creative Business Solutions Agency’, is showing positive outcomes for all our clients—by not only addressing their given brief, but to question why the brief has been created in the first place, then stepping back to notice several nuances we can then address.”
“Adman is the awards that honor the power of Thai creativity, to win in this show, we have to win over Thai people heart and create things differently from the market. This is a testament to our creative prowess and hard work,” added Sompat Trisahdikun, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett Group Thailand.
This year The Leo Burnett Group Thailand won 4 Golds, 12 Silvers, 23 Bronzes and recognized 24 Finalists for 23 pieces of work across 10 clients including Tourism Authority of Thailand, The Thai Health Promotion Foundation, DITP, DTAC, Uniqlo, Tesco Lotus, TQM, The1, Bang Lamung Home for Boys and Focus.
