ASIA-PACIFIC – SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, MARCH 2011 – This Saturday, March 26 at 8.30pm, the world will once again switch off their lights and we will all reflect on the importance of climate change and how we can create a better future for our planet.
WWF’s Earth Hour is now in its 5th year and has spread from Australia to around the globe. Earth Hour has launched a Leo Burnett Sydney-developed campaign for Earth Hour 2011. Titled ‘Moths’, the campaign reminds us all how important it is for every one of us to turn our lights off.
Andy DiLillo, Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett Sydney said, "’Moths’ is a comical story that demonstrates why you don’t want to be the only Australian left on Earth Hour night who doesn’t turn off their lights. This year we choose to move away from the big emotive spots of years gone past and simply remind people what Earth Hour is about."
The Leo Burnett team assures that no moths were harmed in the making of the commercial, although they arrived in great numbers to admire the brightly lit film set in the remote Australian location, showing their support and providing truth to the idea.
The TV campaign will be supported by print and outdoor.
