USA – After a round up of the animals starring in Super Bowl ads this year, let’s take a look at the TV commercials featuring hot shot Hollywood personalities.
Nine brands – Budweiser, Bud Light, Amazon.com, LG, Hyundai, Shock Top, Avocados From Mexico, KIA, and Skittles – spent big bucks on celebrities like Liam Neeson, Steven Tyler, Ryan Reynolds, Alec Baldwin, Christopher Walken, and more to try and make sure they get the much needed ROI during this mega sporting event.
Here are the ads:
Budweiser, as opposed to previous years, did not book a cute Golden Retriever this time but instead featured Helen Mirren from The Hundred Foot Journey in a fairly straightforward public service announcement ad called “Simply Put.”
Agency: Anomaly New York
Bud Light’s commercial is in line with the US Elections featuring Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen as poll candidates under The Bud Light Party.
Agency: Wieden+Kennedy
Amazon’s first ever Super Bowl ad stars Alec Baldwin, Missy Elliot, and former Miami Dolphin quarterback Dan Marino to promote The Echo, a voice-activated speaker.
Agency: Leo Burnett
Taken star Liam Neeson makes another Super Bowl appearance for LG’s “Man from the Future” after starring in last year’s Clash of Clans ad.
Production Company: RSA Films
In Hyundai’s ad, Ryan Reynolds plays the role of a fatally cute distraction to women drivers. Thankfully, the Hyundai 2017 Elantra has an impressive automatic breaking system for when you can’t keep your eyes on the road.
Agency: AOR Innocean
Rookie Super Bowl advertiser Shock Top hired T.J. Miller from the HBO series Silicon Valley to pick a fight with its spunky logo.
Agency: Anomaly Toronto
Popular 1980s actor Scott Baio of Happy Days and Charles in Charge fame stars as an alien in the spot entitled #AvosInSpace.
Agency: GSD&M, Havas Media
To promote the new generation of the Kia Optima, Christopher Walken stars with a mismatched pair of socks.

Last but not least is the Skittles ad featuring Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler and a skittles portrait of himself screeching the rock band’s classic “Dream On.”
