Who are the most notorious creatives who bagged the biggest wins in this year’s awards season? This is what adobo magazine aims to find out every year for Mad About Awards, creating the country’s adobo Creative Rankings based on the metals earned by the agencies, creatives, marketers, and production houses across the most prestigious award shows in the world.

This year’s theme is Most Wanted Creatives, where entrants are ranked according to the most notorious in the industry to determine who are worthwhile bounties for the adobo police to chase after. adobo magazine once again collaborated with PwC Isla Lipana & Co. to properly audit and tabulate the points to ensure we come up with the adobo Creative Rankings 2018 to determine an index of creatives which stirred the industry.

For one night, the adobo Creative Hub was filled with overflowing food, tons and tons of food and snacks, and party music to get people pumped up as the industry recognized the most notorious creatives of the industry.

Mechanics:
adobo Creative Rankings Process:
  1. The adobo Creative Rankings consolidated lists of awards received by each advertising agency from selected international and local advertising awards, as summarized by adobo and provided to PwC Isla Lipana. adobo has identified the following award-giving bodies to be included in the 2018 rankings:
    – International: Cannes, D&AD, Clio, One Show, and London International Awards New York Festival
    – Regional: Asia Pacific AdFest and Spikes Asia
  2. The rankings are based solely on performances of agencies over the past year. The list of awards submitted by all agencies are duly reviewed by adobo and verified by each respective agency’s authorized representative.
  3. As each advertising award-giving body carries a certain degree of prestige, adobo assigned and placed equivalent points for each recognition, as shown in the table below.
  4. PwC Isla Lipana then tallies of all the awards given to each advertising agency. For score tabulation purposes, minor awards and categories including Craft entries were given 30% of the indicated score set for the different awards.
  5. The total number of awards counted and accumulated for each agency was multiplied by the equivalent points in the table. Accordingly, an agency which won a greater number of international awards is expected to amass more points. The counted awards only include credits earned by the agency and not the credits from its creatives.
  6. The equivalent points tabulated in (5) are added together to arrive at the total points earned by each agency from all categories mentioned, awards (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Finalist/shortlisted) and award-giving bodies. The total points were used to determine the final rankings.
  7. Creatives are ranked separately from their respective agencies, following the same tabulation process and equivalent points. Credits for creatives do not count for the agency rankings. Talents are listed with the company they belong to at the time the awards were given.
The information reflects the data submitted by the agencies relevant to the festivals in 2018 and verified to the best of our ability. An external auditing firm, PwC Philippines Isla Lipana & Co., tabulated and ranked the individuals and companies according to their scores. The magazine disclaims any liability in connection with the publication of this information.
