Hong Kong – Thierry Halbroth has left McCann Worldgroup to join Publicis Worldwide Hong Kong as its new ECD starting January 2016.
Halbroth (pictured) is a former ECD at Commonwealth/McCann in Bangkok, McCann Worldgroup bespoke agency for General Motors’ Chevrolet. He has been with McCann for 10 years holding top positions that include being the global executive creative director of McCann’s Cathay Pacific Central Team.
He has led the creative development for other major brands including British Airways, Qantas, Mandarin Oriental Hotels, ZUJI.com, eBay, Gucci, Dunhill, Marie Claire and Hyperion.
Halbroth is the latest senior creative leader to join Publicis offices in APAC, with Brian Yang, a former CD at Dentsu Beijing, joining Publicis Worldwide Greater China as ECD just last week. Last month, Publicis Worldwide Singapore lured Troy Lim and Jon Loke to join as ECDs from Ogilvy.
Halbroth went to Linkedin to share his thoughts on the departure: “Change is a constant need to nurture creativity and let it flourish. As such, separations are simply unavoidable. This is not the end of something good, as much as the beginning of greater things.”
“All that is needed is courage to stay away from that eternally comfortable safe zone and instead, look deep and wide to keep on moving – trust your guts, they’ll know when to stop”
“Thierry has been at the forefront of leading the change for top-class clients for many years,” said David Gompel, CEO of Publicis Worldwide Greater China. “He is a highly motivated and creative, digital thinker as well as a natural client and team leader. We’re thrilled to have him joining us in Hong Kong and to be introducing him to our clients.”
