NEW YORK – Three Filipino agencies made sure that the country would not walk away empty-handed at the 2018 New York Festivals Advertising Awards. McCann Worldgroup Philippines and Dentsu Jayme Syfu earned First Prize and Third Prize honors in their respective categories.
Continuing their string of victories stemming from last year, McCann Worldgroup Philippines won First Prize in Audio: Products and Services for Retail Stores for their campaign ‘Lives’ on behalf of client Fully Booked Philippines, Inc.
Meanwhile, Dentsu Jayme Syfu earned Third Prize in Best Use of Media: Public Service Outdoor for ‘Dead Whale’ for client Greenpeace Philippines. The agency won Third Prize as well for Public Service Announcements/Communications: Activations and Engagement in Environmental Issues for the same campaign.
Dentsu Jayme Syfu also earned Finalist Certificates for ‘Dead Whale’ in Avant-Garde/Innovative: Avante-Garde Discipline Public Service Announcements, Public Service Announcements/Communications: Collateral/Direct Environmental Issues, and Public Service Announcements/Communications: Outdoor/Posters Environmental Issues. A fourth Finalist Certificate was given to Dentsu Jayme Syfu for Audio: Products and Services for Cosmetics, Beauty Aids, and Toiletries for ‘Breathe’ on behalf of Intelligent Skin Care, Inc. (Belo)/ Belo Men Deo.
Aside from the First Prize honor for Fully Booked, McCann Worldgroup Philippines earned Finalist Certificates in the Audio: Products and Services: Foods category for ‘Dim Dads’ on behalf of client Nestle Philippines, Inc./Maggi Magic Sarap. Another Finalist Certificate was given to the agency in Creative Marketing Effectiveness: Advertising for ‘Kwentong Jollibee: Jollibee Valentine’s Day series’ for Jollibee Foods Corporation.
TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno, for its part, won four Finalist Certificates. ‘Covered Raw’ a campaign created for Advertising Age by young creatives Carlos Quimpo and Byron Co last year, was honored for Design: Craft for Art Direction, and Design: Graphic Design for Books. The cover earned Quimpo and Co the opportunity to attend the 2017 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Finalist Certificates were also given to TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno for Audio: Products and Services for Politics and Government for ‘Correcting History: Marie’ on behalf of client The Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacanang (CARMMA) and ‘Love thy Neighbor’ for Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas in the category Film-Cinema/Online/TV: Products and Services for Corporate Image, Information, and Recruitment.
