More than 1,000 delegates arrive for ADFEST 2015

PATTAYA – Thousands of delegates flocked to Peach Convention Center, at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand for one of the biggest advertising festivals.

Rows and rows of exhibits showcasing the best of the best entries from different categories such as design, media, promo, outdoor and many more are displayed around the wide and spacious halls of the Peach.

R/GA’s Chief Creative Officer Nick Law’s “How to make a brand badass” kicked off the series of talks today. He talked about how honesty and bravery are the secret to how brands can do the best work. Emmie Wilkie’s followed with the world premiere of The Gunn Report 2014, a showcase of all the best ads that defined the year 2014, league tables, and winners.

Meanwhile, Brand Strategist Sidhart Loyal called for people to “Be brave,” share ideas and give people credit with his talk “The Circle of Trust.” The afternoon line up included: “We will fix in it post,” a panel discussion lead by the team at Juice; “Bad is bad” by Cheil Worldwide resident expert Brand Experience, Chung Su Ko; “The Good, The Bad, and The Punk Rocker turned Music Supervisor” by Marcel Wiebenga; ‘ROI of the Bad” by Hando Sinisalu, CEO of Best of Global Digital Marketing in Tallinn, Estonia and the cap the day 1 of ADFEST is “Be Bad! A Technologist’s Guide to Breaking Creative Rules” by Laurent Thevenet, Technology Director at Proximity Singapore.

A World Producers Summit was also held at lunch time today to give production executives in the Asia Pacific and Middle East the chance to gain valuable insights from their peers and find possible solutions to current and emerging business challenges.

The day was capped with a welcome party sponsored by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand. The delegates enjoyed a night of music with bountiful food and flowing drinks.
