SHANGHAI – MullenLowe China, part of global creative network MullenLowe Group, has announced the appointment of Chief Creative Officer Cheelip Ong who joins the MullenLowe China leadership team based out of Shanghai. Cheelip is a creative leader with 15 years of advertising experience, having helped creative departments in key APAC markets such as Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and China.
Cheelip has successfully managed a diverse portfolio of global brands including SONY where he was the Asia-Pacific creative lead, CANON, Abbott, CIBA VISION, Skoda, Procter & Gamble, BMW, MINI, McDonald’s, SKII; as well as China’s technology leaders including BAIDU, Tencent, Xin.com and DIDI.
In his previous role as Executive Partner and Chief Creative Officer at 180China, Cheelip helped the agency grow from 19 employees to 185 across two offices within three short years. Under his creative leadership the agency was awarded over 30 creative awards – including multiple Golds. The agency was named The World’s Leading Independent Agency in 2014 by Campaign UK and Best Digital Agency of the Year in 2014 and 2015 at the China Advertising Annual Awards.
In the course of his career, Cheelip has won advertising awards across multiple categories at international, regional and domestic award shows such as: CLIO Awards, New York Festival, Communication Arts, Adfest, Spikes, Busan Ad Stars, Global Best Digital Advertising Awards, Creative Circle Awards, ROI Awards (金投赏), China Advertising Great Wall Awards (ä¸ĺ›˝ĺążĺ‘Šé•żĺźŽĺĄ–), Tiger Roar Awards (虎啸奖), Red Dot Design Awards, Times Asia-Pacific Awards, China Content Marketing Awards (金瞳奖), Effie Greater China Awards, ECI (e-commerce innovation) Awards (艾奇奖), IAI International Awards, and he also helped break a Guinness World Record for his campaign for DIDI.
