SHANGHAI – It’s not easy being an independent, but the Chinese creative industry has certainly birthed some passionate agencies worth noting.
Following their departure from Cheil Shanghai in August, Alvin Lim (Creative Chairman), Catherine Law (Managing Director/Chief Content Producer), Andrew June (Chief Editor) and Gary Li (Principal of Art), have banded together to launch GPB aka Good People, Basically (Shanghai).
Led by multi-award winning creative Alvin Lim, the four founders have built a strong reputation in the industry as a top performing pitch team with a long collective list of Global and Greater China business wins, including Infiniti, Mondelez, Volkswagen, HSBC, L’Oreal, Dr. Jart+, Samsung’s Nanjing Youth Olympics, Levi’s, Rolex, Mattel and various other international clients.
Their collective experience includes leadership roles at the region’s most notable companies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Grey, JWT, FCB – some of which were the most creatively awarded agencies during their respective times with those agencies.
Says Alvin Lim: “A few bold clients gave birth to GPB. GPB is an independent art and experience design company. We design meaningful content and experiences for our clients, and more importantly, for their customers to want to be a part of. Experiences with emotion and purpose that change the way people think, feel and do. And GPB is set for new times.”
Catherine Law, Managing Director said, “Our people are a diverse group of bright and optimistic minds connected by technology, new media and a strong desire to make things happen.”
GPB opened for business on 1st Sept 2017 with a successful launch for Dr. Jart+ first experiential exhibit in Shanghai.
