KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – GoPro, the trailblazing international leader in action cameras, apps and accessories, has appointed GO Communications to facilitate its Public Relations and communications initiatives in Malaysia.
The engagement, which took effect in the second half of this year, has already seen the agency working with the tech giant to promote some of the company’s newest products and initiatives, including the recent launch of the newly introduced GoPro HERO9 Black, which boasts more power, more resolution, more clarity and more stability to enable users to capture and share their world.
Dubbed “A Hero’s Welcome”, the launch event, which was fittingly held in Jao Tim, one of KL’s most picturesque venues, saw the coming together of tech and action-footage aficionados, content creators, influencers and members of the media. The event was hosted by prominent personalities, Shin Kong and Baki Zainal, who also shared their personal experience with the HERO9 Black, reinforcing the brand and product’s unique propositions.
“We are super stoked to be working with GO Communications. Having already worked with them on several initiatives in past years, they have shown themselves to be a formidable partner when it comes to PR and communications with unique out-of-the-box ideas to effectively and efficiently reach out to our audiences, further cementing our position in the market,” said Sangeet Singh, Southeast Asia, Marketing Manager.
Echoing his sentiments, Peter de Kretser, CEO of GO Communications said, “We have truly enjoyed developing a strong working relationship with GoPro and are excited to engage with them again. This isn’t only because they are an impressive brand with truly innovative products, but GoPro’s unique offering and proposition also presents strategic opportunities to cross-pollinate and engage in collaborations with some of our other clients and partners, to develop campaigns and initiatives where the sum can be truly greater than its parts. Undoubtedly, we are raring to GO with GoPro!”
To further promote the HERO9 following its launch, GO Communications organised a 3D2N trip to Desaru Coast, the country’s trendiest holiday destination in Johor, where selected influencers and members of the media were presented with the unique opportunity to put the HERO9 to the test. Participants were put up at The Westin, Desaru Coast and were engaged with All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rides, as well as water and extreme sports activities to truly showcase the capabilities of the all new GoPro HERO9.
