New Business: OMD wins AliExpress global mandate for 2021

SHANGHAI, CHINA – AliExpress, the global online retail marketplace that is part of Alibaba Group, has appointed OMD as their global media agency for 2021. The appointment, which was won with OMD Shanghai leading the pitch, will see the Omnicom Media Group-owned network manage the media planning and buying duties for the full portfolio of AliExpress products in key international markets, including Spain, Brazil, Poland, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

OMD won the account by displaying an innovative approach that is backed by in-depth market, consumer and media understanding to deliver business results through data-led expertise. Tasked with supporting AliExpress’ global growth, the assignment will see specialised teams based in key markets, in addition to a central team managing the business from a global hub in Shanghai.
