SINGAPORE – Ogilvy & Mather Asia (Ogilvy) has appointed Benoit Wiesser as its new Asia Chief Strategy Officer. His appointment takes place as Ogilvy accelerates its transformation agenda globally and in the Asia region.

Core to Benoit’s brief will be the continued innovation and integration of Ogilvy’s breadth of strategic capabilities as a market-leading, modern marketing offer. Ogilvy & Mather Asia co-CEOs Kent Wertime and Chris Reitermann commented: “Benoit is an excellent and natural choice for the role, having led integrated strategy on numerous accounts that have led to award-winning success globally as well as across the region.”

Wiesser, a multiple Effie, IPA and Tangrams award winner, and Campaign Asia 2014 Planner of the Year, commented: “I am both humbled and hugely fired up to be given this opportunity to lead such a diverse and talented group of people. Together, we will ensure that Ogilvy continues to thrive and our clients receive the highest standards of partnership across the region.”

Wiesser succeeds Paul Matheson, who has relocated to Oslo, Norway, and will remain with Ogilvy in a Global Planning capacity, including working with the Asia team.

Reitermann and Wertime  commented, “We are delighted that Paul will continue to play a role in both our global and our Asia business as a Consultant on select clients. He is a truly world-class thinker, and we value his ongoing role with us.”
