JAKARTA – Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Din Sumedi as Chief Creative Officer for Indonesia.

Originally from Singapore, Sumedi has 16 years’ experience in advertising.  He was Creative Director at Ogilvy, where he was responsible for regional work on Unilever brands like Dove and Pond’s.  He returns to the agency after 6 years at Lowe Indonesia, which under his creative leadership became the best performing office in the network in 2011.  Sumedi was influential in building a market-leading creative profile and winning high-profile new business pitches, including Garuda Airlines, Indofood and Axis.  In his new role, he will assume leadership of the agency’s creative teams across its specialist units.

“It is wonderful to have Din back at Ogilvy. He understands the complexities of Indonesia and loves the culture, and he is deeply committed to developing creative campaigns that work and have world-class ideas at the core,” said Katryna Mojica, Ogilvy Indonesia CEO.

“Din is an A lister. He is an artist who knows business. He’s a global player who happens to be working in Jakarta. He is categorically the best creative director we’ve ever had in our Indonesian office,” stated Eugene Cheong, Regional Creative Director Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.
