Ogilvy Scoops 64th Award by Day Three of the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity

CANNES – On the third day of the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Ogilvy has taken home 64 awards, including a Grand Prix, 14 Golds, 17 Silver and 32 Bronze. The Miami office of DAVID was awarded a Grand Prix in the Print & Publishing category for its ‘Flame Grilled since 1954’ campaign for Burger King.

One of the standout campaigns from the agency’s impressive haul was Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai’s ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ work for ITC Savlon. The campaign received 1 Gold and 1 Bronze in the PR category, and 1 Gold in Outdoor and a Bronze nod in the Promo & Activation category.

The concept of infusing soap into chalks branded as ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Sticks’ was devised to encourage children to wash their hands with soap. The simple but innovative innovation formed part of an engaging and educational behavioural change campaign.

Memac Ogilvy’s ‘Potatoes on Mars’ for the International Potato Center (CIP) was a highly praised winner, taking home 1 Gold in the Health and Wellness category 1 Silver in the PR category. The innovative work saw a team from CIP and NASA attempt to grow potatoes in Mars like conditions using Peruvian desert soil. The aim of the campaign was to find solutions for the 842 million people affected by famine around the world.

Other notable winners include Ogilvy Brasil which took home 1 Bronze Glass Lion for ‘Strong Girls’ for Nestlé and a Gold and Silver in the Pharma category for its Hermes Pardini (VR Vaccine). Ogilvy’s London office also won a Silver in the Print category for its ‘Food Pioneers’ work for Unilever Hellmann’s.

Ogilvy has won a total of 64 Lions including: 1 Grand Prix, 14 Gold, 17 Silver and 32 Bronze.
