Ogilvy’s Bani Tan moves to Thoughtful.

GLOBAL — Bani Tan, who has lead Geometry Global in Thailand for the last two years has moved to take up a senior position at the burgeoning Thoughtful Media Group from April 1st.

His responsibilities as SVP for Malaysia and Indonesia will include growing the network’s operations in those markets and establishing solid operational competence in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. He will also work alongside Somyot Chairat, managing director of Thoughtful Thailand and Vietnam on pan-regional clients and operations.

Bani started his career at J. Walter Thompson and McCann in Malaysia. He is expected to bring new impetus to the nascent Southeast Asia operations of the Hollywood-based organisation.

The Indonesian digital video market has exploded in recent months in tandem with improved broadband accessibility and rapid economic growth. And Malaysia has become an important regional hub for online video channels.
