SINGAPORE – Omnicom Media Group has appointed Ranga Somanathan to lead Singapore and Malaysia and as its CEO. In his new role, Ranga is charged with the leadership of all Omnicom Media Group assets in Singapore and Malaysia, working alongside the senior management team and leads for OMD, PHD, reporting to Jasmin Sohrabji, CEO for Omnicom Media Group, SEA and India.
Ranga replaces Sony Wong in Singapore, who will be leaving his position as CEO of Omnicom Media Group Singapore at the end of the year for an early retirement, after more than 5 years of service with the group. While in Malaysia, Andreas Vogiatzakis has stepped down from his position as Omnicom Media Group Malaysia’s current CEO, to pursue another opportunity in the industry.

Ranga joins Omnicom Media Group from Starcom Mediavest Group where he last held the position of COO of SEA and Head of Global Network Clients for the region. Prior to that, Ranga led VivaKi Malaysia, which included Starcom Mediavest Group and Optimedia Malaysia, as CEO. An active participant in the industry, Ranga held the post of Vice Chairman of ABC and was also the President of the Media Specialist Association (from 2009 to 2012), where he focused on talent development, industry academia collaboration and pursued best practices for audience measurement.
