APAC – Red Pill co-founder Paul Grubb has joined WPP’s Blue Hive as regional creative director. Blue Hive handles Ford Motor Company, WPP’s biggest client.

He replaces Micah Jayne who has decided to explore creative pursuits outside of advertising.

Paul’s relationship with the car business goes far back. In 1989, along with three partners, he formed Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters in the UK, creating the most successful car launch of Daewoo cars in the history of British advertising.

“I handled that business for 10 years, all the way through its transition to Chevrolet, and travelled to Asia a lot, so I’m returning to my roots,” said Paul.

Andrew Robinson, Managing Partner for Blue Hive reiterates this as the reason for Paul’s hire: “Paul demonstrated the right amount of experience, energy and open-minded curiosity for a role that presents some real challenges and opportunities for the business.”

In an interview with adobo magazine, Paul shared that he’s more than ready to back in car business, “The Ford business is truly across the board, and I get to oversee everything from brochures, POS, TV and all the digital, so another great chance for me to continue learning while I contribute.”

Paul brings with him over 30 years of experience. After 15 years with Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters, he worked as the Regional Executive Creative Director – Asia for Lowe Worldwide for over five years, and then Chief Creative Officer for Publicis Thailand before creating Red Pill with former Global Creative Director of Cheil Worldwide Jeff Curtis in 2012.
